Open to the public
Rooted in tradition and inspired by our surroundings, we are proud to offer an elevated, yet welcoming, dining experience to our community.
We invite you to experience our point of view. We’re celebrating quality, sourcing locally, and crafting our own smoked, cured delicacies.
Our goal is to excite, entice, and delight your every sense. We’re showcasing the talent & resources of our region. We’re creating an epicurean dining and sipping destination for our Patrons, Locals, and Passersby.
We revel in sharing, story-telling, and carrying-on. We’d be delighted to have you in our company while we do so.
We're open to the public later this fall but take advantage of our pre-opening customer loyalty savings program called The 1898 Patron membership.
And lastly, please think of us for as your restaurant for dinner and cocktails when we open this Fall.
101 East San Antonio Street
Positioned on the northwest corner of the Lockhart Square, we are privileged to share the stunning view of our ornate courthouse with our guests.
Our establishment's namesake is the year our building was constructed by Gus Birkner. Our entrance is modestly situated at the back of 101 East San Antonio Street (off the Main Street side) in Lockhart, Texas.
The building's original flagstone exterior, limestone brick walls, and broken-in hardwood floors reek of tales from the dirt floor basement, the bank's secure vault, and the millionaire (& gambler) rancher.
